Customer Reviews
Lois Gibbons
KT Hardwoods did an amazing job replacing and restoring my hardwood floors. I am so pleased with the results. Working with Shane and Kathy in the office and Jeremy and Shane, the installers, was a pleasure. Everyone was so nice and professional. From start to finish they were there for me. I have another flooring project coming up and am excited to be working with the KT Hardwoods team again. They are the very best!
Shaun Sorensen
We used KT for our new hardwood floors as part of a remodel in December 2015. Wow! They were absolutely amazing. Josh and his team were great to work with. The entire process went smoothly from the selection process all the way to the final coat. They tried different stain types until we found the perfect one! The floors are practically flawless and 4 months later, still look as beautiful as day one. I highly recommend KT- we were so impressed by their commitment to quality.
Joy Nebeker
They did a great job on my hickory floor. It goes great with my new cabinets. Just make sure when you get your floor that you ask lots of questions so you know what your getting and the process.
Melva Dixon
KTHardwood Floors did such a remarkable job laying our new hardwood floors in our kitchen and hallways. The crews did a beautifully superior job very step of the way. We love our gorgeous new red oak hardwood floors!
Jared and Kathy Larrabee
We have loved our experience with KT Hardwoods from beginning to end. They are very professional, they listen to their customers, and they work hard to meet and exceed expectations. We went from a red oak flooring to an almost white oak look. They work very hard in working on the stain and made sure we liked the results. Definitely high quality work, we love our floors and get questions about them all the time.
FAQs About Hardwood Flooring in Cottonwood Heights, UT
What flooring works best in homes near the canyon areas?
Engineered hardwood is often recommended for mountain-adjacent homes because it offers added stability through Utah’s seasonal humidity and temperature changes.
Why are my hardwood floors starting to separate during winter?
Dry winter air can cause hardwood planks to contract, creating visible gaps. Proper installation techniques and indoor humidity control can help minimize seasonal movement.
Can scratched hardwood floors from ski boots and heavy traffic be refinished?
Yes. Professional sanding and refinishing can remove surface scratches, scuffs, and wear while restoring the floor’s original appearance.
Is luxury vinyl plank a good option for mountain homes?
Luxury vinyl plank is a popular option because it’s durable, moisture-resistant, and easier to maintain in active households with outdoor traffic.
Can KT Hardwoods create custom hardwood floor patterns?
Absolutely. Our craftsmen specialize in custom hardwood layouts, including herringbone, chevron, basketweave, and mosaic parquet flooring designs.
